The Doldersummerveld is a beautiful heathland area in the Drents-Friese Wold National Park, north of Doldersum. The landscape consists of wet heath, former sand drifts and brook valleys, with a rich variety of plants and animals.

 

Hiking, cycling and enjoying

Explore the area via the marked hiking trail from the sheepfold on the Huenderweg or cycle along the path that runs through the field. The watchtower in the southeast corner offers a beautiful view over the heath.

 

Bird paradise

The Doldersummerveld is a breeding ground for 111 bird species, including the Quail, Partridge and Whinchat. Even cranes are spotted there more and more often.
