Climb the Bosberg Tower

This special watchtower is located in Appelscha. This Bosberg Tower is over 33 meters high and stands on the highest point of the Frisian mainland. The tower is built on a 20-meter-high sand dune: the Bosberg. What is special about this sand dune is that there is a huge old oak underneath. This ancient oak is covered in sand and is over 300 years old. Three large branches of this enormous oak tree are still visible next to the tower.  For € 2,- you can climb the tower, there is also an elevator available.
