Our place in Zorgvlied

In Zorgvlied, on the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold National Park, stands our fine holiday home where tranquility, sustainability and atmosphere come together: Vakantiegeluk. A place we have worked on with heart and soul – and which we now proudly share with others.

We are a family from Akkrum with three boys. Four years ago we were given the opportunity to buy this bungalow. What followed were months of measuring, planning, dreaming and eventually a new design. The basics could remain, but much has been renewed – with an eye for comfort, style and sustainability. Think of high insulation values, solar panels, a private charging station and modern installations.

What makes Vakantiegeluk special for us is the personal atmosphere. We didn't want a standard holiday home with run-of-the-mill furniture, but a place with character. So we went looking for beautiful vintage furniture, which we combined with modern elements. Warm, cozy and just a little different. And of course: clean and fresh – the beds and mattresses are new, not vintage;-).

We love the nature in this area, enjoy cycling ourselves, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings every time.

Vakantiegeluk has become a place where you can not only relax, but also be inspired. We hope that our guests will feel as at home there as we do.
